Ok,
here's a complete jeep patch file, with the blender
file for fun. You'll need blender to be
able to play with the source, but once you learn how to work blender, you can do
custom paint jobs to the jeep. The jeep is fairly centered on the camera, and
the lighting is not perfectly set for Furcadian, so what you see in the edit
mode is not going to be what is rendered. The checkerboard floor (layer 20) is
also set 1/10 a blender unit below the jeep, this was done because every now and
then, a render will drag the checkboard into view, and the shadow floor, (purple
layer 10) hash interferes with it. The patch file is not completely arranged
logically or consistently, this is due to the "learning" which I
underwent in transforming blender images
into something which works for Furcadia.
Take for example shape 2. Further down, when you look at its mirror counterpart
(29), you'll note that the back wall is missing completely, however, here,
because the spare from shape 1 covers where the back wall is, I didn't bother
removing the shape and making a separate shape for it. The locations of various
bits and pieces from the jeep are in odd shapes because of the draw order in
furcadia, putting some of the bits in the wrong spot results in the furre
overlapping the shape wrong, or too much flickering when the furre walks past
the shape. As to the blend file, the cursor is centered on the rotation point of
the jeep, any of the corners will do, it's a bit tricky in actually learning how
to rotate then move the jeep properly, experimentation will reveal how it works,
hence why I got that checkboard in there. I will write a tutorial based on this
laters.
Hmm, final little note, the full shapes you see here are not the full shapes
you will find in the patch file, the ones in the patch file have been whacked to
permit alignment of the parts.
